The Hispanic-American Chamber of Commerce of Essex County (HACCEC), in
cooperation with Global First Financial Partners, Inc. (GFFP) presents you with its “BUSINESS PLANNING 2013” Seminar and Lectures at the Atrium of the NJIT University Campus Center on March 20, 2013, Wednesday.

This one-day seminar and lectures integrates issues of corporate, tax law using a problem approach in the context of business planning and counseling. Several problem situations involving common business transactions are examined extensively. Some of the problems considered may include:

(i) incorporating a sole proprietorship or professional practice, and any other type of organization
(ii) analyzing financial statements
(iii) raising private capital for a business venture. This Seminar will also include how to prepare an effective business plan that will be accepted by lenders and investors.

Every planning process goes through a series of stages. In essence the aim is to complete each of the following steps:

Analyze the external environment
Analyze the internal environment
Define the business and mission
Set corporate objectives
Formulate strategies
Make tactical plans
Build in procedures for monitoring and controlling

What do you expect in the Seminar?

Issues such as, “is single proprietorship, partnership or a corporation suited for the kind of business I will go into or you are into?” What are the advantages and disadvantages if I go into any of this type of organization? All these will be discussed during the Seminar.

If your organization already exists, will it be sufficient in terms of your plan to do capital raising program to expand your business? What about raising capital for start-ups? What are the pros and cons in a business organization vis-à-vis your capital raising program? Where do I get the needed capital? What are the requirements for me to raise capital? Why will they lend me? Why will an investor finds my business attractive? Can I pay my loan? What kind of “return-on-investments” that a prospective investor is looking for? Do I have
an exit strategy for my investors?

All these, and many more, will be discussed by well qualified Resource Speakers, which includes, Legal Counsel that is very well experience in Corporate Law, an Accountant, a Banker and a Technocrat.

The Business Planning 2013 will also include companies that will exhibit there corporate brochures in the Atrium, where our Seminar will be held. These are selected companies that will help support your requirements.

Part 1 of 3: African American / Black Males Write the Most Business Plans, Females in General Write the Fewest

While the 2010 U.S. Census reveals the following racial and gender breakout of the residents of the United States of America, a PlanItBusiness.com study has discovered a startling discovery with respect to who writes the most business plans.

Although Caucasians or Whites represent 64% of the population, only 42% purchase business plans, or a -22% business plan-to-population (“bptp”) yield . However the data for African Americans or Blacks, which only make up 12.2% of the population, reveals that Black people represented 26% of all purchased business plans, or a +14% business plan-to-population yield. Asians make up 5% of the population but make up 8% of the business plan population; Hispanics or Latinos display the opposite trend wherein they constitute over 16% of the population but only 11% are business plan purchasers.

Women tend to purchase the fewer number of business plans as compared to their male counterparts, regardless of racial composition. For example, while there are actual more female residents than male residents in the United States, males purchase business plans more frequently than do females by a multiple of 3:1. Females make up 51% of the U.S. population but only 22% of the business plans purchased in this survey were by females.

Conclusions? There are obviously many confounding factors that contribute to the results of the PlanItBusiness.com study; and the study in of itself contains some inherent factors for which could not be controlled. One valid theory is that there is an inverse relationship or correlation between workplace satisfaction and inclination to write business plans. Studies have shown that there is a stark difference on how different ethnic groups tend to rank their workplace satisfaction.

Stay tuned for part 2 of 3 of this study by PlanItBusiness.com in which we explore the success rate of obtaining funding by different ethnic and racial groups. Part 3 of this study series will compare and contrast the studies from part 1 and part 2 with a concluding analysis.
